It's Buu, not BOO. That was a typing error, as someone who has a degree in Japanese, and the studies in general I should know what the original manga says. Thanks.

Hey. Somebody reverted my change. The real name for 'Boo' is Buu. I'm changing it back. -- pokemaniacbill

Can you read? It says next to it when your editing NOT TO CHANGE IT TO BUU. Bring it up with User:Sasuke-kun27.--SUITWhat!? 42! 21:30, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Remind me why I care about him? The page is wrong, there's no reason, and his page is a giant pain in the ass to negotiate. Unless there is, I DON'T CARE. At all. -- pokemaniacbill

pokemaniacbill is correct here..no reason not to change it, Buu is the accepted spelling. Keep it as Buu, unless a concrete, logical reason is given. --162.83.194.34 21:41, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is! It's a hidden message that can only be seen when editing. It says that it's a quote from the manga and is supposed to be spelled as Boo, so leave it be.--SUITWhat!? 42! 21:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is that a misspelling? Is it coherent with the rest of that manga? Is that manga excerpt in japanese, or english? And why isn't that noted in a trivia section or somesuch? --162.83.194.34 21:44, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I said it alrady yet no one listens:Bring it up with User:Sasuke-kun27. I'm just enforcing what he wrote. Also, it is from the english version where it is spelled Boo.--SUITWhat!? 42! 21:46, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That quote is taken directly from the english manga. It should remain as Boo. // Sasuke-kun27 21:49, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Did you ever think maybe it was a typo or an error in the translation process (which seems very likely to me)? Because everywhere I read about it, it's spelled "Buu", and this is the only instance of it being spelled "Boo" I've seen before. Toad King 21:55, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is very simple. The majority is for Bu.. The accepted name is Buu. Now, it's going to be changed to Buu, OR, I call for meditation, it's put to a vote and it stays as Buu anyway. How about we just skip all this mess and put it as it should be, k? -- Jelly Soup 21:55, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Read volumes 24-26 (and possibly 23) of the Dragon Ball Z manga and you'll notice that I'm correct. If you don't have them, see Majin Buu's page and check out his manga name. You'll notice it says "Boo", not "Buu". // Sasuke-kun27 21:57, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
First off, this is an encyclopedia. I don't have to look up information to prove your point, you do. Secondly, 'Boo' i used twice in Majin Buu, both speaking of the Japanese version and the fansub. -- Jelly Soup 22:04, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well just leave it be, anyway. And it would be better if you didn't say "Jap" as it's a racial slur aagainst the Japanese. --SUITWhat!? 42!
Fixed my previous comment, sorry if I offended anyone. Also, no, I will not just leave it be. Buu is the correct term and Buu it shall be. Unless Sasuke-kun27 can post proof. -- Jelly Soup 22:12, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, footnotes are meant to link to PROOF, not comments. -- Jelly Soup 22:17, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I gave you guys proof. It's in volumes 24-26 of the english manga and if you don't have the books, check Majin Buu's page. It's right there. How much more proof could you need? Also, TTN seems to have fixed things for now. // Sasuke-kun27 22:18, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Majin Buu's page, as I said, only uses Boo twice, under 'other names'. You can't just say 'it's in the book, lalala'. As it's part of your case, you need to provide proof (link, screen shot, scan, something). -- Jelly Soup 22:22, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, let's get this straight here: the vast majority of the time, it is spelled Buu, and on a rare occasion, it was spelled Boo. Therefore, logically, it should be spelled Buu with a side comment noting how it was spelled differently in whatever manga. Get over your elitism, please, you're making this a far larger problem then it need be. Mphudson 22:27, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's Buu. Why's there even any argument about this? Klosterdev 15:56, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The majority case should be used. Perhaps you could mention that it was spelled Boo once or twice, being sure to give citations and not slipping into original research while attempting to explain the reason for it being spelled different. To say it was a mistake is original research, so would need verifying. --Lord Deskana (swiftmend!) 21:03, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not about Buu's name[edit]

Is it just me or are the history and personality sections not really... encyclopediaish? --Ryajinor 21:57, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a rare and joyous occasion to find an anime (or, to a lesser extent, other pop-culture) related article on Wikipedia with any kind of professionalism. -Xena vs Xenu Ultimate Battle 22:40, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I mean an in-depth specific article, like a character bio or something similar. General articles about the show (or whatever) like The Simpsons or Dragonball Z are usually alright. -Xena vs Xenu Ultimate Battle 22:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Z-Sword[edit]

Can anyone else verify how many hours it took for Gohan to master the Z-Sword? A recently reverted edit had it down as 55 hours total. Currently, the article reads 25 hours. Son Gohan reads 20 hours. Which are we going with? -- Jelly Soup 23:14, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From what I remember reading in the English version of the manga, it took 25 hours. I'm not quite sure which one were going with, though. By the way, the "55 hours" thing is completely false so there's no need to worry about that. // Sasuke-kun27 23:26, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wasn't sure. It seemed like it took a long time in the anime, but, then again, 20 hours took fifteen episodes to express. -- Jelly Soup 07:55, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
