Remington Model 600 Mannlicher 308
[edit]I have just bought one in very good condition, and would like to know more about it.
I have been on the Remington web page and quite a few more and there is not much info on this rifle. What i have is, And i Quote "In 1974 remington contacted a custom stock maker in Stutgart to stock 142 of their Mohawk actions in various calibres. One of which was stocked and sent back to remington While the other 141 were being stocked. Remington decided to abandon the project and in lieu of payment to the stock maker, under his contract the 141 Mohawk barrelled actions were given to the stock maker. In 1975 he sold the completed 141 carbines to the Stutgart Rod and Gun club who in turn sold 70 to the Heidelberg Rod and Gun club." unquote.
I would apreciate any Corobborating evidence to suport this, I have read many variations of how thay were produced. But it still shoots very well and looks fantastic, although it does kick a bit. My Rifle is SN A6678396. Allan Allan-D-J (talk) 10:01, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
