Renumeration vs. Remuneration
While I understand that renumeration redirects to remuneration because of the common mispronunciation and misspelling of the word, renumeration is itself an actual word with a its own different definition: "to re-number or re-count."
I propose that a new article for renumeration be created, and include a blurb at the top directly visitors to this article ("Not to be confused with..."). Otherwise, visitors are going to either a) believe that renumeration is a misspelling of remuneration; b) believe that renumeration is another acceptable way to spell remuneration; or c) be thoroughly confused, like the individual who left a comment above me. 96.238.123.105 (talk) 01:10, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps you mean enumeration. As far as I know, 'renumeration' is not a word but rather a common misspelling of remuneration. But I agree that the redirect is misleading for the reasons you give. I think this article should make note of the commonly misspelled version. In fact, the redirect page for 'renumeration' [1] includes these tags -- Categories: Redirects from misspellings | Unprintworthy redirects. PrBeacon (talk) 21:38, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
In UK employment law remuneration more properly is 'consideration'. I wonder why this is not mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.69.103.143 (talk) 15:05, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- I just got rather confused by searching for "renumeration" and ending up here and not noticing that I had been redirected to a different (but similar looking) word. Just as you feared could happen. Jason Quinn (talk) 00:21, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
Andecdotal / Subjective
The phrase "...Misspelling this word while negotiating pay for a job is embarrassing and makes one feel awful." seems anecdotal and subjective. Anyone opposed me removing it? - Orun Bhuiyan (talk) 20:07, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- No, somebody please get rid of it -- Scott Cannon August 20, 2014 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.37.120.201 (talk) 17:36, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
