Warren Ballpark

[edit]
  • User:69.9.11.60 changed the first sentence to "Rickwood Field, located in Birmingham, Alabama, was thought to be the oldest professional baseball park in the United States. It is predated by the Warren Ballpark in Bisbee, Arizona by one year." The ball grounds in Warren, with wood seats dating to 1908, did host professional baseball games in 1909, but the current stadium structure was built by the WPA in the 1930s. Much of Rickwood Field's structure actually does date to 1910 when professional baseball moved there from the older Slag Pile Field closer to downtown. These distinctions (or disclaimers) are probably worth including in the article, but I thought it better to discuss how to address them here than to edit war over the lead section. --Dystopos (talk) 15:34, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
