[edit]For the list of Pachelbel Rant songs, how about listing the chords for each song when transposed into D? Most of them really don't bear that much resemblance to Canon. BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger (talk) 08:07, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
I agree, many of these songs have just the first 3 chords of the canon. (I V VIm), and a lot of those use the Major VI, not the minor.Maybe it's ok for comic effect though?. 86.168.226.229 (talk) 18:39, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- Sure it is, but isn't it worth a mention that almost all of the songs he mentions only follow Pachelbel for the first three chords (I-V-vi)? The iii appears in only one or two of them as the fourth chord, meaning the entire rant is ... wrong?
- The article says "Throughout the course of his rant, he continuously plays the Canon's chord progression on his acoustic guitar." — No he does not, he usually just plays I-V-vi-IV. The same goes for "he changes the chord progression to suit the individual song, although still using the same chords". As it is the information in the article is false. — Mütze (talk) 03:12, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's a funny video on Youtube. But the content of information let something to be desired. What The others have already noticed, is that almost exclusively the pop-progression I-V-vi-IV is showed. But this is not the complete Pachebel-progression I-V-vi-IV IV-I-IV-V. In order to find some song-example for the Pachebel-progression, this article was less helpful. If I had looked for the pop-formula, the four-chords-medley of Axis of Awesome would be the better choice. --Mjchael (talk) 08:33, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I added a couple of citations from the New York Times and USCNews (the student paper of University of Southern California). It's pretty obvious to me that Rob Paravonian is notable, but the article perhaps just needs some more work. Please refrain from deleting this article until there is time for other editors to work on this article. -- RobLa (talk) 02:26, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
