Needed Upgrading Stub Article on Robert E. Petersen

[edit]

The Wikipedia page for Robert Einar Petersen is currently a stub article that barely breaks the surface on his diverse and impacting career. While being a stub article it upholds the quality of Wikipedia founding pillars of information, the material is solid, not circumstantial, significantly supported by sources and maintains neutrality. A fact that gives a respectful nod to Petersen’s career and character as an entrepreneur, collector, publisher, historical curator, and patron of many interests. Unfortunately the biography project is an enormous one and Robert E. Peterson is but a single star in that galaxy. We need to expand and upgrade this article so that it supports the efforts of Wikipedia and facilitates the efforts of the Wikipedia Biography, Motorsport and Automobile Projects. Once the bulk of the expansion is done, smaller edits will be more feasible for contributors to stitch in more notable facts relating to Petersen’s dynamic history.

One might ask why Petersen's page is so limited. Perhaps with the passing of his sons in 1975 and his wife in 2011, he has no heirs to push forward on this. Some of what is on Petersen's current page has only tangential relevance to him - what happened to his company after he sold it. And the paragraph about his gun collection, while relevant, comprises a larger percentage of his biography than it should -- meaning that discussion of other aspects of Petersen's life are sorely lacking by comparison. There is a wealth of resources and notable details available on Petersen’s life. Let’s use a logical categorization to break down his life while following the structure of other similar figures (Intro, Early Years, Career, Business Philosophy, Love of Cars, etc.) and work on expanding each section with relevant material and resource links.
