The line about "home to music communities" is trite as well as misleading, as it implies that the Rough Trade record stores were the center of musical activity in those cities. The article also claimed that the San Francisco store was started after 1988, which is not true: the first SF incarnation was on Grant St. in the early '80s. I don't know the chronology of the opening of the various stores, but better to have none at all than to have an incorrect chronology.

I agree. I recall the SF shop being open in 83. I'd gues it lasted from 82-84 at least. Managed by Steve Montgomery and his girlfriend Anne. Its major contributions to musical activity were 1) importing a bunch of reggae, 2) releasing Blue Monday in the U.S. Wwwhatsup (talk) 19:12, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
