This page should not be speedily deleted because it satisfies criteria 1 of WP:Politician, in that Palansuriya was a politician who held national or sub-national office (he was elected to the national parliament of Sri Lanka in 1956). The fact that the article was created by a banned editor or sock puppet of a banned editor does not mean that the subject is not notable (refer above). --Dan arndt (talk) 00:12, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This article was created by a blocked user who was using a sockpuppet after the main account was blocked. However, substantial edits were made by User:Dan arndt. Therefore, it does not qualify as a speedy delete candidate. G5 states that speedy may be applied to articles " which have no substantial edits by others."JodyBtalk10:25, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
