Did you know... that BBC traffic reporter Sally Traffic has also narrated poetry albums for the blind?

I found some info regarding her early career so have added a paragraph about this. Also, I notice one of the references is named as Evening News - Scotland. I won't change it but surely it should be the Edinburgh Evening News? TheRetroGuy (talk) 14:02, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Searching FreeBMD for any Boazman, born between 1949 and 1959, returns only one with the name Sally: here, for Sally A., born in Sutton Coldfield, mother's name Clayton, registered third quarter 1949. Martinevans123 (talk) 13:48, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly, which is why I'm not suggesting this is used as a source in the article (although there seem to be many BLP articles that use original GRO birth certificates that someone must have purchased...) But if you have any better guess, at a date that might be searched for in WP:RS, and possibly corroborated, by all means share that. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:00, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If people are using birth certificates as sources in BLPs, they are almost certainly doing so in violation of several policies, starting with WP:BLP: Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public.. A purchased birth certificate is not 'widely published'. And nor for that matter is it likely to be a reliable source, given the well-documented difficulties involved in ensuring that the certificate was issued for the same person referred to in the biography. Lucky that no-one has sent off for a copy of Sally's then. What's your guess of her birth date, so we have something to search with? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:26, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good luck searching, if you ever decide to. By the way, Companies House here lists a Sally Ann Boazman born September 1949. I'd suggest that was reasonably reliable. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:43, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like I now have to re-read it. Does it prohibit discussion of possible birth places and dates on Talk pages? Perhaps FreeBMD and Companies House have just made it all up. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:54, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
