– or "feudal lord" instead of "daimyo". For improved disambiguation, as Wikipedia doesn't ordinarily use lifespan ranges for disambiguation of people. Note that the Daimyo article's title doesn't use a diacritic, so I omitted it from the suggestion here as well. —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 00:51, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A short review shows that there are a variety of problematic titles used in this area right now: Shimazu Tadayoshi and Shimazu Tadayoshi (2nd), Ōkubo Tadayoshi (I) and Ōkubo Tadayoshi (II), etc. When possible it seems like disambiguating by geographic area is preferred, but it is the same in this case. There aren't any articles on daimyo that use either "daimyo" or "feudal lord" as a disambiguator, but I would prefer "daimyo". Consensus at Talk:Daimyo appears to indicate that this should be considered an English word, so "daimyō" isn't necessary. Dekimasuよ! 04:26, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
