@ULPS: I started review. Comments will be below. Review within 2023 GAN Backlog Drives. Eurohunter (talk) 19:26, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks! ULPS (talk) 19:44, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Eurohunter: I believe I addressed all your concerns, is there anything else? ULPS (talk) 22:00, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Eurohunter: Okay, now I think I got everything :) ULPS (talk) 15:41, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- Expand lead. Add information about charts. Eurohunter (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Done. Is that long enough or should I add more? ULPS (talk) 21:34, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- It's okey. Eurohunter (talk) 22:18, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Done. Is that long enough or should I add more? ULPS (talk) 21:34, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Background and recording
[edit]- "On the album, JPEGMafia incorporates similar production style to that of his third and fourth studio albums, with a focus on utilizing samples from soul, gospel, no-wave, and 2000's music." - no reference. Eurohunter (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- I believe this was sourced to the Anthony Fantano review, as there are debates around using him as a source I instead changed the sentence and referenced Pitchfork. ULPS (talk) 21:35, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- There is no information about genres and album duration in the text also how many track it has. Eurohunter (talk) 10:46, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Eurohunter: I added some info about genre to the production and style, but the album duration and number of tracks are not really needed in prose as the sources do not mention it as some notable concept. See the Beatles' White Album as an example of an album that should discuss its length, as sources explicitly talked about it. Nothing was special about the duration of Scaring the Hoes, so it does not need to be mentioned outside of the track listing. ULPS (talk) 03:01, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
- There is no information which track is the shortest and which is the longest or which is the first and the last. Now I don't remember if it's in the text or no. Eurohunter (talk) 10:46, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- See above ULPS (talk) 03:01, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
Track listing
[edit]- No references. Eurohunter (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Done Added reference. ULPS (talk) 21:35, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- There is no reference to notes. Eurohunter (talk) 22:12, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oops, missed it. Done ULPS (talk) 22:58, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think notes should be transformed into text and moved to "Background and recording". Eurohunter (talk) 12:52, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- Pretty much every album article (including most GAs I've seen) has samples in a notes section underneath the track listing, for example on Donda or Kids See Ghosts (an FA). ULPS (talk) 15:27, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- There are missing two references in Kids See Ghosts (album) for these notes, so that's not the best example. Eurohunter (talk) 16:23, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah true, just showing it as an example. Most rap GAs (which usually have a bunch of samples) will have that in the notes, thats what I was trying to explain. ULPS (talk) 16:25, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

[edit]- No references. Eurohunter (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Done Added reference. ULPS (talk) 21:35, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Tidal credits are different than Bandcamp? Would it be possible then to replace it with a more accessible source? Tidal requires login, so I can see only part of credits. Eurohunter (talk) 22:15, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- They're mostly the same, Tidal just uses their real names rather than stage names (but doesn't include some writers, which is why I included Bandcamp). Tidal probably isn't required, it's just there for the legal names. If you want, I could remove it, but I don't see an issue with having it. Most album articles use Tidal anyway. ULPS (talk) 22:58, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- "Most album articles use Tidal anyway" - so change them to use more open source. Eurohunter (talk) 12:53, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- Tidal is the most open source for most, you can either use Tidal or the albums liner notes, which I do not have access to right now. In this case, I really don't see an issue with having both. ULPS (talk) 15:27, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- @ULPS: Yes, but you have to log in to see all credits correctly and once it's removed there is no archived version. Wikipedia prefer open easy accessible sources without log in requirement, paid subscription etc. Eurohunter (talk) 16:21, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- That doesn't mean non-accessible sources aren't allowed, just that accessible ones are preferred. I really don't see how this is any less accessible that the liner notes, which would be completely unavailable without someone buying them. Again, considering nearly every music GA uses tidal, I don't see an issue. ULPS (talk) 16:23, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- @ULPS: In case of liner notes yes but in case above it's probably possible to easily replace (not in all cases). Eurohunter (talk) 16:36, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- I could remove Tidal if you really want (I don't want to be combatative lol), but having both seems fine to me, it really only is used alongside Bandcamp for the credits. ULPS (talk) 16:40, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Eurohunter: just wanted to ping you in case you missed my reply :) ULPS (talk) 02:53, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

Other
[edit]- How is label called? There are two versions in the article "AWAL Records" and "AWAL". Eurohunter (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think this varies by source, so I just changed it to "AWAL" as most refer to it as such. ULPS (talk) 21:36, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- There is no introduction to previous album LP! by JPEGMafia and U Know What I'm Sayin? by Danny Brown. Eurohunter (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure what you want here, as this album isn't really related to those two beyond some production similarities to LP! ULPS (talk) 21:36, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- There is no need to be. Just what was before and what was next from both artists. If there is reference for production similarities to LP! add it. Eurohunter (talk) 22:11, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Eurohunter: I still don't fully get what you mean, do you want me just mention somewhere that the album follows LP! by JPEGMafia and U Know What I'm Sayin? by Danny Brown? I assumed the infobox would be enough for that. Also I couldn't find any RS actually for the production similarities, that was more my own observation lol. (There is the Fantano review, but again not reputable to some) ULPS (talk) 23:00, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- @ULPS: There is no "infobox would be enough for that" - infobox is just a summary of whole article, so all the information should be in text first. See "Fest i hela huset" for exmaple. Eurohunter (talk) 12:50, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think I understand you now, added two sentences. ULPS (talk) 15:27, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

- Is this possible to write anything more about singles? Eurohunter (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Added a little about the reception. Done ULPS (talk) 21:37, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Section "Release history" is missing. Eurohunter (talk) 20:51, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- I added the section, however I cannot find any source specifying the exact date of the CD and vinyl releases, is "2023" for the date fine? ULPS (talk) 21:52, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- @ULPS: Discogs isn't a reliable source. Find other source or add direct reference to disc. Eurohunter (talk) 22:11, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Would their website for the releases be okay? I see a lot of other album articles just cite amazon or something like that. ULPS (talk) 22:59, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- @ULPS: It depends on, but it would be better than Discogs. Eurohunter (talk) 12:50, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- Done then :) ULPS (talk) 15:27, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
