English name
[edit]I checked out the National Scout Organisations, and the name of this organization in English is French Scouting. I think we should change it to that name. --evrik 22:39, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:France EEdF.svg (done)
[edit]The image Image:France EEdF.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Article name
[edit]I see this was mentioned about four years ago, but there is no indication that anything was ever done about it. So I will bring it up again: Is there any particular reason why the title of this article is not in English? This being the English Wikipedia and all? Neutron (talk) 03:59, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's a French organization and like with most French organizations there is no officially used translation. Each possible translation would be original research since the French word "scoutisme" differs in its meaning from the English "Scouting" and can include "Guiding" ("Girl Scouting" for US citizens).
- Because of these problems with translations the Scouting Project decided to use the national names unless there is an official translation by the organization itself. --jergen (talk) 07:46, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
