Mixed Martial Artist?

[edit]

"the physically imposing Gaspard became a successful No Holds Barred fighter (his record was 35-7"

No...First of all there is no NHB fighting anymore, its called MMA. Second, FCFighter nor Sherdog have a listing for a Shad Gaspard. Where is your source for this because i'm gonna tag it otherwise...205.188.116.12 16:47, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No Holds Barred and Mixed Martial Artist are two different things. NHB has fewer rules; you can head butt, use elbows, throw kicks with shoes on, and more. MMA is sport than a fight. Every real fighter know NHB is more of a street fight and MMA is more of a sport fight like boxing —Preceding unsigned comment added by Haleymay (talkcontribs) 15:00, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hard to be "following in the footsteps" if Batista hasn't debuted anywhere. The entire line seems unnecessary if he has stated he has no intention to go into MMA. Desirsar (talk) 05:50, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Resides

[edit]

How can he reside in 4 cities? Somebody needs to check which one he really resides in and remove the others. TJ Spyke 03:12, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to his MySpace he lives in all four.«»bd(talk stalk) 15:11, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Louisville, Kentucky is where OVW is based, he will have only resided there while he was in OVW i guess

Shad said in a Q&A on his myspace, that he own real-estate in Brooklyn, ny, Atlanta, ga, Miami, fl, Louisville, ky, and Houston, tx. Lots of people do this, buy condos/ Houses and rent them out so some one ells pays for there property while they still own it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.46.101.10 (talk) 03:36, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one article was rated and this bot brought all the other ratings up to at least that level. BetacommandBot 04:21, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

""Shad" is not a separate ring name"

[edit]

Says who? That's all he was ever called while on Raw. Tromboneguy0186 (talk) 02:23, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

THUGNIFICENCE

[edit]

On Shads myspace and in an interview on wwe .com he calls his finishing move THUGNIFICENCE. It’s just a modified big mans STO. It’s spelled different than the character name on the Boondocks, so it must have no connection, and just be plain street slang. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.31.128.225 (talk) 15:05, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Long Name

[edit]

Why was his long name deleted? Shad Chad Javier Jesus Roman Chittick Gaspard, I think. Thats his name, as in WWE Magazine and his myspace.

Oh, also, his new finisher is called Thugnificent.

--75.45.193.234 (talk) 00:01, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done The name was deleted due to vandalism. I have restored it. ♥NiciVampireHeart19:18, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Someone needs to use Capital Letters when writing his full name because it is coming up as vandalism on STIki. Geraldshields11 (talk) 01:51, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Movelist

[edit]

When has he ever used a back suplex side slam as a finisher? The closest thing he used to that was a backdrop driver and that was only during his days in OVW. Also, his STO finisher is called Thugnificance (a portamanteau of thug and significance), not Thugnificent, according to his MySpace like the guy above mentioned. PCE (Talk)

His wwekids.com profile states that his finisher (STO) is called The Recoil. I added a reference, you can see it from there.--Pavlen (talk) 19:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Myspace source

[edit]

The Myspace source on this page should probably be replaced since the page is set to private. Some of the information may be on his official website. Thought I would state this before trying and changing anything. (MgTurtle (talk) 21:34, 12 March 2011 (UTC))[reply]

G.I. Joe: Retaliation?

[edit]

Did Gaspar's scene get cut from G.I. Joe: Retaliation? I did not see "Shad Gaspar" (or something similar) on IMDB's full cast list but have not seen the movie. Dalton Imperial (talk) 04:09, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot edit the article but I noticed a mistake

[edit]

It says he went missing on the 18th of May, when in fact it was the 17th of May Mwlit (talk) 03:07, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

 Done JTP (talkcontribs) 03:55, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember this is a BLP

[edit]

And as such requires reliable sources, TMZ and Forbes contributor pieces are not reliable sources, especially for controversial information. Additionally, we do not generally put "missing" dates in the lead of people who are otherwise notable for their career and not being a missing persons. Praxidicae (talk) 11:27, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also the legal section needs to go entirely, it's sourced exclusively to TMZ with a Bleacherreport rehash of TMZ. The charges were dropped, this is the equivalent of "he got a speeding ticket!" and is utterly mundane fancruft that has no reliable sourcing because it was not reported by reliable sources. Praxidicae (talk) 12:08, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And this In 2011, Gaspard performed in a Modern William Shakespeare performance in Tampa, Florida, where he performed a modern take on Hamlet Act 3 Scene 1 "To be, or not to be", as well as other Shakespearean works.[46] is straight up cruft too. It shouldn't be in the article and has no independent sources. We don't need to know every thing this person has ever done in their life. Praxidicae (talk) 12:09, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And this needs to be removed as it is unsourced: In 2011, and 2012, Gaspard's graphic novel Assassin & Son won several awards for best original independent graphic novel. Gaspard came up with the original concept/premise and wrote the screenplay along with former WWE wrestler Muhammad Hassan. The series is said to be a modern version of Kazuo Koike Lone Wolf and Cub. Praxidicae (talk) 12:11, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK then, if the other sources were reporting based on a TMZ report then you have a point with the BLP issue, then the article can stay as it was for now. Oswah have rollback the article back to your revision already, removing all the potential BLP issues. Also I will help removing some of the other issues you have mentioned. Shad presumed dead.

[edit]

Search called off for Shad with him being presumed dead. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/other-sports/breaking-shad-gaspard-search-called-22051247?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar - 2A02:C7F:C283:C100:859:B2E9:361E:DA99 (talk) 12:48, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That is not a reliable source. We don't report deaths unless they are confirmed. Praxidicae (talk) 12:52, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Right. I'm sure he's out in the ocean walking on the water. 2601:14F:8006:4170:998A:C5CE:6D2D:E635 (talk) 21:51, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To say be is dead would be misinformation. Even if the odds of his survival are low, nothing is confirmed. Mwlit (talk) 21:53, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion this page needs closed

Vandalism

[edit]

Some one is changing Shad Gaspard Wikipedia videogame section of the page, he was really on WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, not WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006, I know his page is being heavily edited and the person passed away, this user needs to stop. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rac2k41 (talkcontribs) 05:12, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"World Wrestling Entertainment (Now WWE)"?

[edit]

As the title says, normally the "Now WWE" thing is mentioned whenever the preceding text is for the *old* company name of World Wrestling Federation. Why would it need to say "Now WWE" when World Wrestling Entertainment is the current name? Podgorski37 175.34.175.166 (talk) 05:18, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As per WP:ELBURDEN, disputed links should be excluded by default until there is consensus for inclusion. @Sundayclose: please explain what unique value you feel the disputed link provides when there are already multiple links providing images of the subject, plus what's available on Commons. Nikkimaria (talk) 18:22, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The link to F.A.G. provides other images and better quality images. WP:RSP#Find A Grave allows for some uses of the website, so the requirement for consensus does not always apply. Sundayclose (talk) 18:52, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
[citation needed]. There are many many many images available between Commons and the existing links, and no exemption to the consensus requirement. Nikkimaria (talk) 18:55, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree, but feel free to add images. Sundayclose (talk) 18:58, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
