Perpetrators of the massacre

[edit]

It says "The Sabra and Shatila massacre was the slaughter of between 762 and 3,500 civilians, mostly Palestinians and Lebanese Shiites, by the Hobeika-led militia and the IDF"

While the IDF shares responsibility in the massacre, the slaughter was not done by any IDF soldier. NadavNahari (talk) 06:22, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

"The Sabra and Shatila massacre was the slaughter of between 762 and 3,500 civilians, mostly Palestinians and Lebanese Shiites, by the Hobeika-led militia and the IDF in the Sabra neighborhood of southern Beirut and the nearby Shatila refugee camp from approximately 6:00 pm on 16 September to 8:00 am on 18 September 1982."

The massacre of the Sabra and Shatila camps was not commited by the IDF. The killing was done by Lebanese Forces (Christian Militias), as is reflected in the wiki article covering the actual topic, where it is clearly stated that the IDF only took part by illuminating the area with flares and failing to stop the massacre.
