Hi KabirDH! I saw that you removed a paragraph that I added earlier to the lead section, as "unsourced addition to lead". However, the contents in the paragraph are actually already cited in the body under "Second premiership (2009–2024)" section. I didn't add the citations in the lead because I wanted to avoid redundant citations as per MOS:LEADCITE. Would you still object to the addition of this content? Nomian (talk) 09:43, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with the addition of the content as in my opinion it violates WP:NPOV, generalising the situation of Bangladesh's economy during her premiership as "economic mismanagement".
Since Hasina came into power, Bangladesh is set to graduate from its LDC status and has vastly improved its quality of life and GDP per capita indices, to the point that it's actually one of the best countries in the region by GDP per capita.
The entire lead section has just become an anti-Sheikh Hasina attack ad. I believe the article already goes into enough length over democratic backsliding, enforced disappearances and her authoritarianism.
If you're going to mention the money syphoned out (the source of which does not seem very credible), at least mention how drastically Bangladesh's economy has improved since 2009. When Sheikh Hasina entered the premiership in 2009, Bangladesh's per capita GDP was $698, compare that to India's $1096.
Bangladesh was already in a steady growth trajectory in different socio-economic indicators before Sheikh Hasina came to power as per info given in Economy of Bangladesh, so the progress cannot be attributed to her. The paragraph which I added is a summary of the sections and provides context as to why protests broke out which led to her resignation so it quite easily fits right to mention in the lead. Besides, I notified you and waited for your objection for more than 24 hours in which period you were active on Wikipedia, before restoring. Now you came to revert me and responding here only when I restored the content. That's not how it works. You must now reach a consensus before reverting me. Nomian (talk) 18:10, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By all measures, if you search up 'GDP per capita of Bangladesh' the graph that you see shows Bangladesh in an exponential growth trajectory after 2009. It may not be merely because of her policies but it is plain and simply wrong to generalise her premiership as 'economic mismanagement'. KabirDH (talk) 19:50, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
KabirDH what you are missing is economic management doesn't only include GDP growth but also making sure the growth reaches the people and not remain within a select group. Bangladesh is going through a foreign reserve crisis, an increasing foreign debt, and high youth unemployment. These are all a consequence of the economic mismanagement which led to the protests, at least that's what the sources say. Please do not revert me without reaching a consensus. Stop that's a big lie. She did resign, where's your evidence that she didn't resign? Yeah joy said she did not. Yeah let that maniac say anything he wants to but sheikh hasina did resign [1]Wikiwaki6969 (talk) 06:06, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wouldn't the onus of proof need to be on the one who claims Hasina did resign? Some sort of document showing the resignation? Reuters article comes after your sources, which may have got it wrong - and relied on Bengali sources. 98.45.134.246 (talk) 19:16, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sheikh Hasina is a dictator. She is a murderer. During her rolling time, she killed more than 20,000 people, which included Army senior officer killings, the killing of opponent leaders, and students in short, whoever tried to protest against her she killed them. She and her family (her son sajeeb wazed joy and daughter putul, her sister Sheikh rehana and her family including Tulip (one of the Parliament members of the British government), stole 800,000 USD from the country.
on fifth August 2024 she resigned from her position and escape to India.
She or her family never participated in the lebartion war of Bangladesh in 1971, rather her father took a safe exit and submitted himself to west Pakistani army and was in the jail for the safety of her own family. Blankspacer (talk) 06:33, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

So i found a misinformation on the 'Resignation and flight from Bangladesh' section which says that 'She left no written resignation letter'. It's honestly a huge lie about her. She did give the written resignation letter to the president Shahab Uddin Chuppu. Please edit this line to 'She left written resignation letter to the President." Instead of 'She left no written resignation letter'. [1]Wikiwaki6969 (talk) 06:03, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: It looks there looks like there are conflicting reports to the legitimacy of the letter. Either way "She left written resignation letter to the President" is not supported by your citation, as it clearly states "she mailed the letter ... to some of her close media friends" – macaddct1984(talk | contribs)13:45, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
