Dear colleagues, there seems to be a consensus that West is one of the best younger poets. He has two books of poems in print with a reputable publisher (as distinct from a vanity publisher). And he has a book of the Italian poems of Cavalcanti with West's own translations. The reason he is asked to do all those reviews in the Weekend Australian is not because of his politics (whatever they are), but because of his reputation as a writer. I've put in a list of some of the awards made to him to show he is taken seriously as a poet. Previously I had left it out because in itself it is boring, redundant.
I take however your point about self-referring and self-referencing material. I have removed every scrap of it.
Am I allowed to remove your warning bars? I'll wait a few days.

I've removed the warning bars, but have moved to meet them, mainly by quoting well respected critics evaluating West's work. Let me know if you think there is more to be done. Erictimewell (talk) 23:42, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
