Hi! I am MichChemGSI (talk) I did the in-class presentation on how to edit Wikipedia! This page is coming along well! but make sure that before the page goes live that all of your images are in fact in the public domain. You have indicated that the SmartGrid from SmartGrid2030 is in the public domain, please list where it says that all of their images and work are in the public domain. Removed "Smart Grid Functions" section

[edit]

I removed this entire section, which is (a) redundant to the Smart Grid article, (b) not specific to China, and (c) reads like a rah-rah editorial for Smart Grid technology. --tgeller (talk) 14:56, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Improving and updating content

[edit]

I'm proposing a handful of changes to the article, namely:

  1. Updating figures and predictions to be more current, throughout the article
  2. Removing the "History of Smart Grid in China section". The development of Smart Grid in China hasn't been going on long enough to warrant the inclusion of its "history" and the majority of this section, particularly "SGCC(State Grid Cooperation of China) Three Phases 5-year Plan of Smart Grid" isn't history; it's speculative and unsourced. The information presented at the beginning, with citation, should be moved to the "Deployments" section
  3. Removing the "Top 10 Smart Meter Bid Winners in the First Four Biddings of SGCC, 2011" subsection from the "Techonolgy" section. The information is only tangentially relevant to the topic of the article.
  4. Rename "Deployment and Deployment Attempts" to "Deployments". The original title is superfluous; additionally, the "Upcoming deployments" are now actually occurring. I also provided additional context for the pilot program, and updated China's more recent deployments of Smart Grid technologies.

I'm working on a draft with those proposed changes in my sandbox here, and I would appreciate any and all feedback in making sure this is compliant with NPOV as well as all the other Wiki guidelines. I hope we can reach a consensus so that I might submit this for an edit request, and I'd like to really reiterate that I am more than open to working together and making changes to create an article that the community approves.
