Deletion
[edit]An Article I wrote today was marked for possible deletion. I believe the reasons given were questions about the notability and that it apears to be autobiographical. I respectfully dissagree with this reasoning. I did write the aritcle about myself as I know many others have done and have not been marked for deletion. I believe that the events mentioned, such as the winning of an Emmy Award, a Parents' Choice Gold Award, being part of a number of award winning productions as a TV and film composer and concert performances of works by notable orgnaiztions such as the Arditti Quartet (listed in Wikapedia,) the Kansas City Symphony, and having my work conducted by Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Steven Stucky (listed in Wikapedia) as well as a number of other important concert music credits, are notable events and credits. From my reading of many Wikapedia Articles, the events and credits listed in my article are very similar in character and notability to those listed in articles about other composers. After reading the Wikapedia Criteria for Music Notablility, the credits listed in this article appear to qualify. The information presented in the article is all verifiable.
As a foot note to the above, this same information is presented in an unsolicited 2007 edition of Marquis Who's Who.
If there is something about the style of the writing which needs to be changed, please let me know and I'll be glad to change it.Stephen 03:49, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Stephen Cohn
I have added external and internal links as per suggestions I have been given.Stephen 05:48, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Stephen
removed tag
[edit]Not being the author, I could and did remove the tag. As far as I can tell it was an unjustified proposed deletion, and I do not seem able to figure out the rationale for proposing it.
- The article still needs to be improved by the addition of third party references--in this case to reviews of the compositions and other works, and if possible to any articles about the subject. I did a limited amount of re-formatting. DGG 06:03, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Please note that I have added external links to reviews and an interview as per the suggestion above.Stephen 18:08, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
I find it odd that Stephen Cohn's IMDb profile contains no mention of his Emmy. – Riana ঋ 12:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Regarding IMDb: I have never entered any information on IMDb. What they have listed is whatever came to their attention for whatever reason and is by no means complete even in terms of my film credits. Now that this has been called to my attention, I will check into updating the information.
I have, however, provdided two links regarding my Emmy Award. One is a link to my profile on the American Composers Forum web site. The other is a link to a page on my web site which contains three photographs regarding the Emmy: one is a picture, taken the night of the ceremony, of me holding the award. One is a picture of the nomination certificate and the third is a reprint of an add taken out by KTLA (who produced the program) thanking their Emmy Winners. 71.92.200.168 21:55, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Stephen
Since I am relatively new to Wikipedia, I would appreciate some clarity on where my article stands at the moment. If I understand correctly, it has been accepted as Wikipedia Biography Project and is now awaiting further evaluation before all the tags are removed. Is this correct? If so, it has been in this same state for a number of months. Is there anything that can be done to move the process forward? Thank you to anyone who can offer some guidance.Stephen 22:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC) Stephen
