Death, or De'Ath? Kevin McE (talk) 06:29, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect that his surname was De'Ath - someone would need to check that somewhere - but that it became corrupted by years of lazy journalism. There has been a lot of press coverage this weekend, with the vast majority of outlets spelling it "Death". I certainly see no reason for a page move. Rje (talk) 16:53, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is only somewhat related, but I think there should be a note (in brackets, right after his name) explaining how to pronounce his last name, the way they do with some words. The only reason I even found this article is because today I heard about someone who had the last name "Death", but it was pronounced "deeth". I looked it up because I wanted to see what nationalities of people would have this last name. So -- how IS his surname pronounced? NoriMori (talk) 02:45, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely Death, pronounced "Death". 100%. I lived near him, and, if someone from out of the area called him De'Ath, he took the mickey out of them for being posh. Pollythewasp (talk) 16:38, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
