Objectivity
[edit]"Electronics wizard" can hardly be an objective description. SamIAmNot (talk) 13:42, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
- Why not? We nerds use it all the time, along with the term "genius". The term "enthusiast" is equivalent to the term "hobbyist". Industry hires "wizards" and "geniuses" because they innovate and get the job done. Hobbyists and enthusiasts are users, not professionals. I don't have the facts about this gentleman's background (yet) so I'm not changing anything (yet), but it seems to me that someone who has helped develop possibly one of the most important security devices for the future deserves better than being labeled as little more than a hobbyist. Accuracy in reporting facts sometimes requires being precise in descriptions, even if it means using a little tropish jargon. Whoever changed the word wizard to enthusiast probably meant well, but unless they have the facts to back it up, they have ironically substituted one objectivity error for another. And I am unanimous in that. 2600:1700:6EB0:80E0:7506:4450:EBBC:2975 (talk) 16:50, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- Done I agree, "Electronics wizard" is not an objective description. Thankfully, that wording is now gone from the article. Anton.bersh (talk) 14:11, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
