... that the Store of Knowledge chain of educational toy stores was conceived as a fundraising tool for public television stations? Source: Gonzalez, Virginia (April 5, 1994). "New shop promotes learning: KCET store offers educational toys". Daily News of Los Angeles. p. N3. Gary Ferrell, chief financial officer at KCET, said the store serves two purposes. "It's as much a part of our mission and a part of our vision for the station to explore new ways of generating revenue that are consistent with our basis mission of lifelong learning," Ferrell said.

@Sammi Brie: What i'm talking about is how the source does not seem to support the idea that it's funding other stations. when it says "a part of our vision for the station to explore new ways of generating revenue" it looks to be saying that it's trying to generate revenue for their station, not others.
