Fair use rationale for Image:Iwatani.jpg

[edit]

Image:Iwatani.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:11, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant content

[edit]

Most of the first paragraph echoes info in the Pac-Man article, and in doing so, seems to wander away from biography. How about just linking to Pac-Man instead? SomeAvailableName (talk) 08:54, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name is wrong

[edit]

Tōru Iwatani is not correct. The correct spelling is Toru Iwatani. The only 'official' link is the Pac-man museum. But when he came over to our conference, we received this e-mail:

Dear [],

Thank you so much for all your efforts.

I would like to ask you for your help. Because Prof Iwatani asked me to solve the followings:

1. If possible could you change his first name in the website/ Featured Speakers( http://www.festivalofgames.nl/site/ )? The correct first name is Toru. (not Tōru)

2. And also if possible could you replace his photo in the above website to the attached file of his photo ?

Could you kindly help for the above mentioned?

With best regards,

[]

Now, I don't know how to change the title of an article. So could someone would does know please fix it?

Tōru IwataniToru Iwatani – - WP:JATITLE, case 1, Use the form personally or professionally used by the person - this is the name he chooses to use (see comment above this one), and case 3, Use the form publicly used on behalf of the person in the English-speaking world; the person is known in English under the name "Toru" without a macron. --Relisted Tyrol5 [Talk] 02:36, 10 January 2013 (UTC) JoshuSasori (talk) 07:56, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support Normally I would oppose this based on the fact that Wikipedia should have a standard romanization system and the only reliable source is not directly linked to the person in question. The above comment is completely unverifiable, but based on the possibility that it might be true, and Mr. Iwatani may have actively sought to get his name changed from the macronized spelling in some forum, I guess that's more important. elvenscout742 (talk) 02:25, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
