TAPAS-BH-201Rustom-II – Although this news (https://www.deccanherald.com/content/582217/tapas8200only-surveillance-may-morphed-combat.html) from 2016 claims that this drone is renamed to TAPAS-BH201, it remained to be mentioned as Rustom-II by leading news agencies - The Hindu (16 Dec 2021) - https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/rustom-2-indigenous-uav-crosses-a-milestone/article37963891.ece , NewIndianexpress (16 Dec 2021) - https://www.newindianexpress.com/nation/2021/dec/15/rustom-iiuav-crosses-important-milestone-will-be-up-for-production-in-twomonths-2395927.html , Janes (15 Nov 2021) -https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/india-demonstrates-autonomous-take-off-landing-capabilities-of-rustom-ii-uav . I'm requesting to change article title from least known name TAPAS BH 201 to popular name Rustom-II as per WP:COMMONNAME FoxtAl (talk) 02:42, 1 April 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 05:28, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Just a thought, given the drone is a prototype, is it likely to change name again after it leaves production? Or is TAPAS-BH201 the production name and it will become more prevalent in future sources? *puts crystal ball away* On a funny side note, the article by 'The Hindu' is basically the same as The New Indian Express article, just the quotation marks are removed and the quote attribution swapped from the beginning to the end of the paragraph. It's entertaining but not surprising as i know the major agencies do co-operate on content. My point is, has editorial control happened once, or twice? The Hindustan Times Feb 15 2021 uses Rustam-II, with a brief mention of the other name. Zindor (talk) 21:44, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment DRDO officially calls it Tapas BH, or Rustom II interchangeably. However, the older designation was Rustom II. The newer one is Tapas. For ref Captain Jack Sparrow (talk) 08:24, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Janes has a statement directly from ADE: "ADE told Janes that the name ‘Rustom II' was cancelled in 2019. The system was rebranded as TAPAS. The change reflects the platform's transition from a combat-oriented platform to a surveillance UAV."
Please close this. Thanks. DockMajestic (talk) 14:31, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
