DOB

[edit]

Hmm. I notice that the date of birth has been changed, based on the NYT obit, to May 9, 1950. But every other source says he was born in 1951 (and was 62 at the time of his death), while this one says September 5. Interestingly, May 9 (5/9) is the inverse of September 5 (9/5). One would have thought that the New York Times had decent fact-checkers, but I'm not sure what to think. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 17:09, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I have written to David Gonzalez, the author of the NYT obit, with my query. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 19:47, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
...who has responded (almost immediately) with the information that "The date i used was given to me by his family." --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 19:55, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
