Three regulating bodies

[edit]

There are actually three regulating bodies for TV and radio transmissions in Israel:

  • Israeli Broadcasting Authority (IBA/Rashut Ha-Shidur)
  • Second Authority for Television and Radio (Second Authority/Ha-Rashut Ha-Shniya)
  • Council for Cable and Satellite Transmissions.

Almost all channels are regulated by one of these authorities whether directly or indirectly.

DVB_C2 is not in use - yet

[edit]

DVB-C2 is sometimes used for the combination DVB-C/MPEG-4, by stupid (often sales/marketing) persons.

DVB-C2 is the new DVB cable transmission standard - not yet released to the market (May 2011) It is 100% unrelated to MPEG-4 video compression. I have replaced the DVB-C2 with ????

Spatial Muxing VVC H266 MPEGi

[edit]

Is there any chance for: Spatial Muxing = SMX = 2x MiMo in DVB-T2 VVC = H266 = MPEGi in Israel Terrestrial Digital TV or satellite ones?

I suppose it would be great for such small country.

Are there any plans for transition?
