Just came across this 1969 news article from the Times-News (Hendersonville, North Carolina) which has some biographical information as well. A shorter but similar type of article here.

Also, there is a (quite grainy) photo of Hancock donating a work here: http://www.afspacemuseum.org/library/missileer/1970/02-20-70a.pdf (page 3). As it's the newspaper of the Air Force base, it certainly seems it would be PD. Dominic·t 22:28, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
