This needs a rewrite. It is written as if it is definitely a genuine historical account. It should be NPOV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.13.208.23 (talk) 05:26, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sacramental Prayer

[edit]

Truman G. Madsen notes in "Are Christians Mormon?" ( http://www2.ida.net/graphics/shirtail/trumang.htm ) that "In Coptic, in 1969, we discovered a prayer--the sacramental prayer it was alleged--and the words are almost identical to those in 3rd Nephi. [Sacrament. See volume 66 of BIFAO (Bulletin de L' Institut Francais d' Archeologie Orientale).]" It would be nice to have something in this article mentioning this. I think it's important to show how 3rd Nephi fits in with other sources. Given the shape of the current article, I'm not sure how to do it, though. Any ideas? If it is indeed added, let's use a valid source for this material (not the url listed above) and a properly format reference (e.g. Madsen, Truman G. (1974), "Are Christians Mormon?", BYU Studies, 15 (1): 73–94 {{citation}}: Unknown parameter |month= ignored (help) ). That particular quote is found on page 92. I tried to look thru BIFAO, 66, 1968 {{citation}}: External link in |volume= (help); Missing or empty |title= (help), but my French is not good enough to dig thru 190 pages to figure out what specifically Madsen is referring to. Also, as Madsen got something as simple as the year wrong, I'm unsure what else he might have gotten wrong here. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 21:58, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
