2009 riots

[edit]

In July 2009 there were violent clashes between Toldos Aharon Chassidim and police. The online edition of the Jerusalem Post writes here:

The Eda Haredit is engaged in a battle for survival against what it sees as the forces of evil. Nothing else can explain the stone-throwing, the trash-bin-burning, the rioting and sheer intensity of rage that has rocked the capital over the past days.

A 3 (or 2?) year old child weighing only 7 kg was taken to a hospital, against the protests of the mother, who may be suffering from Münchausen syndrome by proxy. (The child was released weighing 10 kg, which indicates he/she was really undernourished. ) This caused riots and stone-throwing; Jerusalem's mayor Barkat suspended some municipal services (such as trash collection). Whether this was done to keep the civil servants out of harm's way or as a punishment for Toldos Aharon community (or both) is not clear to me.

Perhaps somebody who knows more about it can edit the article. --91.115.189.196 (talk) 19:44, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"It is led by its Rebbe, Rabbi Dovid"

[edit]

I presume that should read "Rabbi Dovid Kohn"?--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 21:23, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Roth died on 6 Nisan in1947"

[edit]

It would be useful for the general reader to (also) give the standard western date (March 27)--2607:FEA8:D5DF:F3D9:30BD:B86A:70A1:96E3 (talk) 21:55, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
