chief of staff

[edit]

can someone clarify if lennox is the chief of staff Neeknitsuj 00:51, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lennox is white house chief of staff it is stated quite clearly on his character profile on fox.com which can be found here. Pat 23:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling

[edit]

His name is spelled "Lennix" (with an 'i', not 'o') in the opening credits. Shouldn't we change it here? --TimPendragon 05:35, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is spelled as Lennox on his character profile on fox.com which can be found here Pat 23:23, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First appearance

[edit]

I'm pretty sure he was in the last quarter of season 5.

No, he wasn't. Watch season 5 again, he's not there. Order_66

I'm guessing the original questioner's confusing him with this guy, as my wife and I made the same error --Squiggleslash 01:36, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Education and Previous Jobs

[edit]

Where does this list of educational establishments and preivous jobs held come from, is this sourced from official sources, fox or is this just wikipedia made up stuff about a fictional tv character?144.82.204.50 18:12, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This comes from the charachters official profile on fox.com which can be found here. Pat 23:22, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merging

[edit]

Lennox, while an important season six character, should be merged with other minor characters. There's no need for him to have his own page, as he didn't play a big part in the only season he was in. It's also probable he won't be returning to the show. Oddjob42 (talk) 20:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keep (For now anyway) Ok, which is it? You start out by saying that he was an important season 6 character, then you say that he didn't play a big part. I'm for holding off on the merge for a while, at least until it can be established, one way or the other, if the character is coming back for another season. Angelriver (talk) 02:44, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge per WP:PLOT. This article has nothing in it aside from the plot summary. If notability is established after the merge, he should be revived - but by that I do not mean that he just needs to appear in season 7, he has to be important to it. asyndeton talk 20:04, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge - he can be unmerged at a later date, but virtually everything personal about Lennox has been stripped from this article and it's been turned into a plot summary. I don't think Oddjob's arguments have much validity (he most certainly did play a big part in that season, and why wouldn't he be in the next season?), but there's little point in the article as it is --Squiggleslash (talk) 01:29, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keep: He was a main character for season six and he participated in every episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.184.83.137 (talk) 04:40, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keep If there's a plot summary, all that means is that the page needs to be cleaned up, not removed. He was also very important in many things which I am not going to list because it will not mean anything to someone who is determined to merge with the whole fiasco.--Lan Di (talk) 05:55, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge A character page should be about the character, not the plot they participated in. Merge with minor characters, give him a short bio and direct to the main season 6 page where his plot can be further elaborated on. --Oddjob42 (talk) 11:57, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you seen the minor characters page? It's a mess, because of what Lucy and people like her did. The merging needs a rest until that page is fixed.--Lan Di (talk) 05:07, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The perceived quality of the minor characters page has absolutely no bearing on this discussion at all. Also comment on content and not individual users.--Lucy-marie (talk) 14:39, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What a joke, Lucy. You just called Lan Di a "petty, ignorant, obsessed fan" and said that he/she was uneducated and narrow minded. And then you have the nerve to tell others to comment on content and not the contributor. Please. Angelriver (talk) 18:22, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here we go again off topic, irelevant and another personal attack, why not focus on the content of this discussion and not on the user commenting.--Lucy-marie (talk) 21:03, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How am I attacking you? I simply pointed out the attack you made on another user. Angelriver (talk) 04:35, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It has no direct bearing on the issue at hand.--Lucy-marie (talk) 17:20, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well how about this? Everyone stops attacking, and everyone concentrates on the arguments instead. How does that sound? Theresa Knott | The otter sank 18:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have one thing to say, stop merging articles, keep pages! Especially with important characters like Tom and Noah Daniels! If you keep merging articles, the 24 articles will not be in detail, and it would not be a good account of what happened in this show, where details are very important —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.50.156.130 (talk) 04:15, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is mature of an obsessive. See the appropriate wikiproject and look at when the last discussion on this was. If you want 24 in detail go 24 wikia where you can have as much frivolous detail you want. --Lucy-marie (talk) 08:21, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want obsessive look at your user page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.50.157.43 (talk) 22:14, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

:Keep If you want to merge minor characters, I have little problems with that (that's what Wiki 24 is for), but last time I checked, Lennox was a regular, and he was the only regular character I can see that is requested to be merged. I suggest that we should keep this article so that someone can follow Wikipedia's guidelines. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 15:49, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The page is mInor and recuRring characters, he is not a majoR charachter but is a regular recuuring character, so he fits niclEy into the page parameters.--Lucy-marie (talk) 14:17, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think you might want to check your spelling first. Anyway, back to the subject, he is listed as main cast, I certainly remember that, so he's not recurring. He's definately in every episode of Day 6, and his character had a bigger part than certain people think (gets kidnapped by conspirators setting up Palmer's assassination, steaking out Dr. Jackson, er I mean Bishop, wanting to turn in every Muslim (one of the reasons why I hate him, though he turns out sort of cool in the end) So I'm sorry, but you're wrong, he IS listed as main character. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 00:35, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Being listed for one or two seasons does not entitle a character to its own page amongst the hundreds of thousands of "Main Cast" characters listed in hundreds of TV shows. Only a small group of long standing main characters deserve their own page. The rest are just recurring characters. Please also view the Minor and Recurring Characters page so as to gain a better understanding of the criteria for inclusion in the page. --Lucy-marie (talk) 23:20, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not saying I disagree with the merge, come to think about it, if we are to merge him, we could just say what I said about him on my previous post and add a few more sentences to it to make sense. I'm sorry if I sounded antagonistic, I'm just saying that he is listed as a main characters (though this might not mean much anymore since certain main characters from other shows are gettin merged. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 21:41, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - Yes, it needs editing so as not to simply be a plot summary, I think that Tom Lennox is not a recurring character, but is in fact a series regular. He is listed as one of the series stars, and appeared in all 24 Episodes of Season 6, and again in 24:Redemption. He has appeared in similar number of episodes to characters such as Ryan Chappelle, Nadia Yassir, or Milo Pressman, all of whom have individual pages and considerably more screen time than many other characters who also have individual pages. I would say that if the writers of 24 consider him a main character, which they do, then so should we. The other minor characters page is very cluttered, and a major player such as Tom Lennox should not be lost on that page. Additionally, he clearly has a fictional bio which goes beyond the scope of season 6, and extends to the start of season 7, which deserves to be told. during season 6, it is shown that his character has had interaction with characters of previous seasons, such as David Palmer, which had implications to the overarching story of 24, which would not be able to be told in the other characters page. Finally, his appearance in 24:Redemption should at least hint to his continuing involvement in the 24 narrative. -- Lukebunger (talk) 14:07, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Come to think of it, I agree with the people in favour of the merge. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 14:51, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
