Argentina

[edit]

I'm removing the last paragraph about the British ship sinking the Argentinian ship with torpedoes. It says that the ship didn't have a torpedo belt (or so I assume, it's poorly worded). Therefore, it has zero relevance to an article about torpedo belts. We could go on all day listing ships that didn't have them... Lime in the Coconut 14:43, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

KGV-Tirpitz Image

[edit]

I want to thank Kevin for cleaning up the image, but I would really like to keep the Tirpitz half section as it illustrates the approach that the German Navy took in designing a torpedo defence system, and provides much additional info regarding the two navies approach to battleship design.Damwiki1 (talk) 06:03, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Modern Torpedo belt

[edit]

I removed the tag. Modern heavyweight anti-ship torpedoes do not strike the ship directly. They detonate under the ship, and the pressure of the blast will break the keel. So putting spaced armor on the hull would do absolutely nothing to protect against these weapons. Work permit (talk) 03:19, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
