Master key leak
[edit]Might be worth adding a reference to http://boingboing.net/2015/08/21/make-your-own-tsa-universal-lu.html It seems the WaPo photographied all the master keys, so now everyone can get a key to open every locked bag with Travel Sentry (all 300 million of them). --46.127.254.81 (talk) 20:40, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- It's also worth pointing out that there are only seven different TSA keys, and that TSA locks are not designed to keep thieves out. All of the locks are very easy to compromise non-destructively within a few seconds, and most can be defeated destructively within a second or two. TSA locks are intended primarily to prevent luggage contents from spilling out accidentally during transit, and to be opened easily by border and Customs staff. 80.0.124.54 (talk) 13:45, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
Bagmasta/Baggage Master
[edit]@Bagmasta: Your interest in keeping sourced information out of this article is strongly at odds with Wikipedia policy. Your claim that the information is "inappropriate" or a trade secret is not backed by policy - Wikipedia, so far as I know, doesn't even have a trade secret policy because summarizing what you read in the news is logically never going to divulge a trade secret! Their time to keep the trade secret was when they were letting the Post photo the keys; but even without that, it could have been disclosed by appropriate reverse engineering of their publicly available products.
Your continued interest in this one article makes me concerned you have WP:COI issues. If you keep reverting me I think we have to go to WP:ANI, though I certainly prefer not to. Wnt (talk) 19:42, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Travel Sentry. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20140530115943/http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/baggage-locks to http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/baggage-locks
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
).
