Renaming
[edit]Hi, I suggest renaming/merging this page with van der Waals heterostructures. I started that page because I did not find this page at first, but you have written all I intended to write and more in this page. Looking at the literature[1] van der Waals heterostructure seem to be a better name for the combination of graphene/hBN/TMDCs and other 2d materials, as these are usually, but not quite always, combined for semiconductor applications. Also a quick search on google or google scholar seems to indicate people, by 2d semicondutors, refer to the actual 2d semiconductor materials, like TMDCs, instead of the combination/application. - Really they are two different topics. So please keep them distinct. Two dimensional semiconductor may make up some of the substructures in van der Waals heterostructures, but in turn these may contain non semiconductors like graphene or boron nitride. In recent weeks I have come across a few papers on van der Waals heterostructures, but they are all predictions, rather than reports of manufacture. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 13:09, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- I should read more on the subject, but I do not quite see the need for two different articles. If two are needed, then van der Waals heterostructures needs a lot more work put into it than I have time to do right now, so just redirected it to two dimensional semiconductor for now. Error with Graphene classification
[edit]Hi, I was just wondering why Graphene is classified as 2D semiconductor when its classified as a semimetal? 2405:6E00:2089:E043:740C:C7A4:4914:3EA3 (talk) 23:42, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
