Tyler Miller (soccer)Tyler Miller – only "Tyler Miller" on wikipedia; unnecessary disambiguation Joeykai (talk) 22:22, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Meatsgains, it's possible to differentiate with a WP:HATNOTE. -- Tavix (talk) 19:36, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The hatnote could read something like: This article is about the soccer player. For the university president, see G. Tyler Miller. For the Paralympian, see Canada at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
  • Oppose - I was leaning support until I noticed that there is a third notable Tyler Miller, an Paralympic basketball player from Canada. Not only that, but this Paralympic Tyler Miller is also a gold medalist ([1]). Had it not been for this case, a hatnote as suggested by Tavix would have been a splendid solution. However, since none of the Tyler Millers are a primary topic, the current disambiguation page for "Tyler Miller" is perfect as it stands.--MarshalN20 Talk 03:15, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Tavix, your suggestion is not illogical, but we would have to assume that the 23-year-old Tyler Miller that plays soccer is somehow more notable (i.e., the primary topic) than the Tyler Miller who is a Paralympic gold medal winner. Surely, the young TM still has a long career ahead of him that could result in him becoming the next Messi or Pele (no exaggeration intended), but at this point it is too soon to affirm he is indeed the primary topic.--MarshalN20 Talk 04:14, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not on wikipedia, only one article uses this name. Joeykai (talk) 19:23, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Only one of those is both known as Tyler Miller and also has a wikipedia page and that is the soccer player. Joeykai (talk) 18:02, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not correct. They all have Wikipedia pages (although the paralympian shares his with others). Someone may still search for them using "Tyler Miller" and end up in the wrong place. A disambiguation page at the base name is the only appropriate solution. Bazonka (talk) 09:35, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

– clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC per page views [2] Joeykai (talk) 21:12, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note: the Tyler Miller page is a dab page with significant content and is ineligible to be a new title for this article unless it is also renamed. This request has been altered to reflect that fact. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 02:49, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
