Move to AGS-2
[edit]The ship was only briefly classified PY between acquisition and commissioning the next month and was never USS Hydrographer (PY-30) as that designation came with commissioning and reclassification to AGS. The somewhat notable service of the ship and citations in wartime reports and postwar literature will be AGS. The ship had a notable career in USC&GS before and after the war. Whether that long history should be the general article with a link here is a question that should be considered--if that civilian history is ever covered.
