I'm looking for information about the 631 Tank Destroyer BN attached to or organic to the Third Army during WWII. Anyone know Sgt. Christain H. Hershey, Tank Commander?

cleanup

I think the article is well-written as it is, and unless someone truly has an issue with it, I removed the cleanup tag. Jmlk17 11:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Omissions

[edit]

I don't know if they are skipped for brevity (and if so, should be retitled 'Notable Commanders' or something to that effect) but I noticed that John Yeosock wasn't listed, as he commanded 3rd Army in the first Gulf War. A complete list of commanders (and other info that is available under the FOIA and applicable DOD policy) is at http://www.arcent.army.mil/history/com_bios/index.asp - I'm not up on copyright/copyleft so I don't know about cutting and pasting the biographies of the missing staff if they warrant it, but the information is public domain so if the article needs more meat, that link is the deli.

Shoulder sleeve insignia - image change

[edit]
I've gone ahead and changed the image for the shoulder sleeve insignia from the previous version to my own version. Upon looking at several photographs, it just looks like the proportions in the previous image were off a bit. (first reproduction - second reproduction - seemingly scanned authentic) The red circle was too thin and the text was too bold. Hopefully I'm not the only one that thinks so. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 06:01, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Change of Command

[edit]

I went ahead and updated the new commander for 3rd Army to LTG William G. Webster. Please let me know if there is a mistake I made, or additional information I need to provide, as this is my very first edit! M4arnold (talk) 07:09, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, looks great. Thanks for keeping it up to date. Keep up the good work! --ScreaminEagle (talk) 19:24, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
