University ratings
[edit](I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)
There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings. Please do not remove reliably sourced content
[edit]The following content has been twice removed from the article:
In October 2008, the University was subject to a journalistic investigation on student initiation rites, after the BBC obtained a copy of a secretly-filmed video featuring students with bags over their heads drinking and vomiting,[1] overlooked by another student dressed in what the press described as a "Nazi officer uniform".[2] |
Whilst it is legitimate to remove content that is not reliably sourced, this incident is very reliably sourced and reported in all national newspapers, TV news and other media. It is acceptable to extend it or to edit it to remove inaccuracy, but reliably sourced material should not be deleted. Please see WP:NOTCENSORED for Wikipedia's very clear policy on this. References
Tone Radio
[edit]Tone_Radio redirects to this page, but there is no reference to the student radio station in this article.
If the radio station is still active, then a mention would be appropriate - even if it is just a couple of sentences.

Style
[edit]The article reads like an advertisement. 86.132.223.214 (talk) 23:19, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- I am not quite sure if this is still the case. In particular, the passage on initiation rites and student behaviour clearly provides a more critical perspective. So, what is the exact reason for which this article should be markes as advert-like? In comparison to other articles on universities, there is no apparent "spam" in this one.
- Thus I suggest to remove this hint. LetsGoSchaf (talk) 13:05, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Founded
[edit]Founded/established :1834 Still when typing university of Gloucestershire on google and pressing enter, google still shows: "Founded: 2001". Does someone here know how to get that changed? Rfletch009 (talk) 23:25, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
