CCDC

whoops, it already exists: Community College of the District of Columbia.

Sites

On an older street map, I thought I had seen UDC located within Mt. Vernon Square (the same building now houses the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. and had also been a public library). The current location of UDC used to be the Bureau of Standards, judging from an old topographic map (and it appears that Intelsat and the International Drive embassies also occupy part of the site). Wasn't sure if this was worth mentioning in the article (it's only my guess based on the maps). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:12, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contextually Inaccurate

The sentence below is contextually inaccurate. The University was not established in 1851, it was not even thought of. The Minor's Teachers College, formerly the Normal School was merged with two pre-existing schools (Washington Technical Institute and Federal City College) to create The University of the District of Columbia in 1977.

University of the District of Columbia was established on December 3, 1851, as the Normal School for Colored Girls. The school grew through mergers and consolidation into the only public university in Washington, D.C. 2601:14D:8100:4210:99CA:68D0:EBB3:9EAA (talk) 13:36, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
