Uttara High School & College stands on Dhaka-Mymensingh Road (Asian Highway) close to Azampur bus-stand. It is situated in the heart of Uttara Model Town about one kilometer from the zooming Zia International Airport.

The idea of Uttara High School & Colllege came from the fact that the necessity of a standard educational institution was immensely felt by the inhabitants of Uttara Model Town as it is cut off from the main city of Dhaka by a reasonable distance. So, it was thought as a wonderful idea to have a public School of a very high standard which will admit boys and girls from all walks of life strictly on merit through admission tests. It is expected that their academic training at this great institution would make them physically and mentally sound enough to adjust and complete with the rest in the pursuit of higher studies. They would eventually turn out as complete men and women having full confidence in their ability in the challenging world. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.148.56.83 (talkcontribs) 21:17, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Uttara High School & College (UHSC) & some small talk

[edit]

It is wonderfull to see Uttara High School & College making the pages of wikipedia. Though not the oldest, UHSC is certainly one of the most recognized schools dominating Bangladesh. The biggest & toughest competitor of UHSC is probably Rajuk Model - the undeclaired "Best" coed school in Dhaka. But, UHSC isn't left far behind.

Uttara High School & College has given birth to some of the most brilliant and creative minds of Bangladesh. Every year, a good number of students get the opportunity to snatch the glory of National Merit Scholarship in Primary and Secondary levels. The SSC results are also quite satisfactory. 100% pass and a bunchful of Golden A+'s surely mark the name of the school clearly on the history of Bangladesh. I would take the opportunity to thank and congratulate all the teachers, students, Board of Directors and staff. Their hardship is undeniable.
