I have delisted this article for not meeting criteria 3 of the GA criteria. This article does not broadly cover this topic. While GA does not require the article to be comprehensive, this article lacks many subject areas. The following topics should be covered:

  • Synonymy - the origins of the river's name and other names which it has been called.
  • Geology - Describe the geological area that the river flows through.
  • Course - what is the length of the Vakhsh River? Does it flow through any cities or towns?
  • Watershed - what kind of area does the river drain?
  • History
  • Wildlife
  • Recreation

These topics should be addressed before this article is nominated for GA again. Cheers! *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 15:45, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vakhsh and Kyzyl-Suu (west)

[edit]

According to Great Soviet Encyclopedia confluence of Kyzyl-Suu and Muksu river forms Surhob River, that becomes Vahsh below left tributary Obihingou. Therefore, Kyzyl-Suu River, specifically Kyzyl-Suu (west) is not Vakhsh river (but just a part of it) and should be described separately. In Encyclopedia of Osh Province Kyzyl-Suu is not considered as Vakhsh as well. Redirect from Kyzyl-Suu to Vahsh will probably be removed. Thermokarst (talk) 03:20, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
