[edit]I am CURRENTLY in the process of writing it. It was made MERE moments ago and is not nearly finished.Dark jedi requiem 16:27, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
How do I add discography because I tried with the album covers and User:Corvus_cornix said that for some reason it was now against the rules and then I did it with out the album covers and just the release date/name of the album/record label and I got the same message about the album covers even though I didn't put them on there and it got switched back to its current look where it has the history twice and its all messed up so if someone wants to help me out as to why User:Corvus_cornix hates discography please be my guest. June 25th 2007
- I don't hate discographies. I'm all for discographies. Just not with album covers. But see this edit, where you deleted the history. Corvus cornix 20:48, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't delete all the history I only cleaned up the page because the history was on there twice. Mart2023 21:17, 25 June 2007
I think the description for the genre of Vanna is incorrect, they are a metalcore band, not post-hardcore. Objective33 29 January 2009
Cleaned up some info on the general page, the new album is already released! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.253.12.31 (talk) 09:22, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Vanna is metalcore, or has been metalcore in the past, please do not remove this. I undid an edit which removed the "metalcore" in the genre, to the way it previously was. Objective22 (talk) 17:52, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
I reedited it back to metalcore, as the way it should be. Please do not edit as I will continue to reedit the article to say metalcore. Thank you. As I am a fairly new editor to wikipedia I don't know how to cite this link, proving they are metalcore. http://www.waytooloud.com/2009/03/25/vanna-a-new-hope-2/ Savagebladez (talk) 05:18, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Please stop editing the article, Vanna is metalcore not post-hardcore, I will continue to edit your vandalism until you stop and will have you banned if you keep it up thanks. Objective11 (talk) 01:43, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
This is the last time I will ask you to stop editing the Vanna(band) page. I have proof here that says Vanna use to be metalcore, "While VANNA wouldnt hesitate to proclaim their old school roots, this young band simultaneously keeps collective irons in the fire of contemporary hardcore and METALCORE". http://www.epitaph.com/news/news/2462. This proves they are metalcore as a notable, reliable source confirms it.
This article mentions they WERE metalcore: http://www.killyourstereo.com/interviews/8/vanna/ This clearly states they are CHANGING from a style "New England metalcore has become saturated", to a softer tone, but this clearly indicates the band member stating that they WERE metalcore, but in the process of changing to a post-hardcore/metalcore mix.
I know some of these articles are dated, but it quite clear that Vanna is/was metalcore in the past. Sure, they may sound post-hardcore now, but they WERE metalcore in the past. Therefore I fully believe this page deserves metalcore added WITH the post-hardcore genre alongside it, or metalcore (early) alongside the post-hardcore genre. I'm going to cite "Bring me the horizon" as an example, yes they play metalcore now, but their material in the past was deathcore, it wouldn't be fair to say they are still "deathcore" as they aren't but they still have recognition of being a deathcore band in the past by the title deathcore(early), in the genre description. I fully believe that Vanna (Band) deserves this same recognition.
Note how their album "Curses" and "The Search Party Never Came" EP are classified as a metalcore, and post-hardcore/metalcore albums respectively, but "A New Hope" is classified as post-hardcore. This reasons that they should receive credit for playing metalcore in their early material, thus having metalcore (early) in the genre description. Referencing back to the "Bring me the horizon" example, their first album "Count your blessings" is considered Deathcore (check wikipedia page), but Suicide Season is metalcore (check wikipedia page), establishing the band as a metalcore band. The fact is that they USE to play deathcore, and receive credit it for it in their genre description via Deathcore (early). This situation is the same for many bands out there, and Vanna's wikipedia page is no different. They deserve full recognition for being a metalcore band in the past. The current editor of this article is at fault. I will not edit the article, but I will politely request this article is edited by someone with the expertise required to do so, or I will present this as a dispute to an administrator, and leave it up to them to make the decision.
