Astronomische Gesellschaft

Isn't it the same thing as Astronomische Gesellschaft? If so, it should be merged into it. German page tells that Franz Xaver von Zach was a president, same as the Vereinigte AG, English page for Astronomische Gesellschaft doesn't mention him. Artem.G (talk) 20:41, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Celestial police and Vereinigte Astronomische Gesellschaft

The Astronomische Gesellschaft (AG) was founded 1863 and continues to exist. The Vereinigte Astronomische Gesellschaft was founded in 1800; they are not the same. Von Zach died in 1832 and could not have been president of the AG.

Celestial police and Vereinigte Astronomische Gesellschaft are about the same entity, with the former page by far more extensive. The two should be merged, by making the latter a redirection to the former. Chi And H (talk) 13:10, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
