P. Zorito
The edited aggregator Grand Comics Database doesn't show any connection between Vince and P. Zorito. [1] ComicBookDb is a wikia and disallowed as a reference source. I'll look around and see if I can find a reliable source about this. --Tenebrae (talk) 21:21, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- A Google search for " 'vince colletta' 'p. zorito' " turns up only three hits, none of which mention any connection between them. --Tenebrae (talk) 21:24, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- Someone I know was a visitor at the Valiant Comics offices soon after they started and either Jim Shooter or assistant editor Laura Hitchcock (or both) told him face-to-face that Vince Colletta was inking for them anonymously under the pseudonym "P. Zorito" because he was tired of the criticism he was receiving about his inking. If you look at any of their comics with "P. Zorito" in the credits you'll recognize Colletta's inking line-work pretty quickly. Shooter was good friends with, and a big supporter of, Colletta and his work and was eager to help him out when he wasn't getting ink work elsewhere. Anyway, it's too bad that this little tidbit of comics history can't be included if it's not physically documented somewhere, but I certainly understand the reasons why it can't. Thanks. bibliography please?
If I'm doing a biographical paper on Colletta, this would all be well and good. But most of the time, I'm sure folks will be coming to this entry in search of a list of comics inked by the man. A list which they will not find, unless one gets started for them. For instance, I came across an entry about Shrinking Violet on Pinterest which has a picture and says Dave Cockrum drew it. I'm pretty sure he didn't. But I can't prove it through wiki, because the only thing I am sure of is that Colletta inked it. You're not helping me narrow things down here. 2602:306:35CD:4E90:8D98:3C3A:AD9C:AAB9 (talk) 01:39, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
- Go here for the Grand Comics Database list of his inking work. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:28, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
