[edit]I haven't found any sources for this put WKRQ's call letters were used in a skit by MADtv. The skits highlights a number of problems caused in the newscast, such as mics going bad, lights falling on anchors, the weatherman wearing a green suit against a green screen. The episode aired today (Friday, November 10, 2006) on Comedy Central at 16:00 (EST) in the Greater Cincinnati market. When I read the call letters I recognized it as a local radio station, which would of course not be a TV station as protrayed in the skit. Also, they claimed to be from North Dakota, which is quite a distance from Cincinnati's WKRQ. -- Sapphire 22:02, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
- It was episode #1014 if anyone wants to write up a section about that. -- Sapphire 22:02, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Is this actually a real CHR?
[edit]I'd consider it an adult-oriented CHR. The station, along with sister station WREW seem to draw influence from the hot AD format, but Cincinnati lacks a pure hot AC. By looking at the playlist, Now or Never, Despacito, I'm The One and Weak are all in rotation, but Wish I Knew You is as well(though other hot AC exclusives such as Take it all Back are not). Believe it or not, it still reports to Mediabase as a hot AC. It's in the same boat as WWMX, it seems. WWMX played Good News (twice), Not Over You, Play That Song, and Renegades, alongside the no-rap version of most CHR hits, but also played No Promises, Whatcha Say, Scared to be Lonely and In the Night in the past five hours. It also plays more golds than your typical CHR would. Most hours have two or three golds, but some have one or none (but a lot of recurrents instead). So yeah, both stations are adult CHRs in my book. Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.115.137.44 (talk) 20:04, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
