Lt Governor of NORTHERN Van Diemens Land (Tasmania)

[edit]

A recent good faith edit of an awkwardly phrased passage unfortunately lost the specific meaning - at this stage Tasmania (then called Van Diemens land) was part of New South Wales - but the North and South of the Island were under separate Lieutenant Governors (both responsible to the Governor of New South Wales). Thus there was actually no such thing as a "Lieutenant Governor of Van Diemens Land". Somehow this needs to be made clear - I have reverted to the (admittedly poorly expressed) original - this does actually need re-writing, but the original meaning has to remain (and if possible made even clearer) if the text is to remain accurate. --Soundofmusicals (talk) 14:01, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
