Not sure if the orphanage section in this article is crucial to Wu Hu. Any other thoughts?

I think it's one of the main reasons Wuhu might be known in the West. As this is an English-language version of Wikipedia, it deserves to stay. Fishies Plaice 15:11, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be removed, as little context or perspective is supplied as to why, of all institutions and facilities in Wuhu, such details regarding the orphanage should be considered notable. -- IslandGyrl 20:00, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism by 69.211.26.8 — from 02:52, 25 July 2006 to 19:28, 25 December 2006 (UTC) the population entry in the infobox said Breanne Benson instead of giving the correct figure. Repaired. -- IslandGyrl 19:28, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Christian missions / St. Lioba's Convent

[edit]

Of more interest for a Western readership might be the history of Christian missionary efforts in Wuhu, such as St. Lioba's Convent maintained in Wuhu by the U.S. Episcopal church's Sisters of the Transfiguration (Bethany Home, Cincinnati, Ohio) from 1914 on into the 1930s.

Unfortunately, for that era and subject matter, online research is probably difficult to impossible; only visits to libraries and examination of archival records would do. -- IslandGyrl 20:00, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
