Population increase

[edit]

@Me and don't you forget that the growth rate in the box is a per annum growth rate which you can see if you hover over it. It is autogenerated and I am certain a machine is not getting it's math wrong. Traumnovelle (talk) 20:29, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ah, my apology I was not aware it was per annum growth rate, however 22.42 is still wrong as it is a five-year gap from 2013 to 2018 and the increases from 12 to 33 is still 175, so dividing that by 5 (175/5) you get 35, meaning that the per annum growth rate would be 35% and not 22.42% no? And if that is in fact the case then the machine may be using the wrong formula (which is derived from human error, which comes as no surprise) Me and don't you forget that (talk) 20:35, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The correct formula is 12*1.2242^5 which gives 32.9946 as an answer. If the machine were using a wrong formula you'd have to edit the template behind it rather than the article to fix it. Traumnovelle (talk) 20:37, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
