Drama ratings misleading

[edit]

I pulled up the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine history of the article cited for the ratings of the drama episodes which cites Video Research Ltd. for the ratings numbers. It appears that Video Research Ltd. is like Neilsen in the US or Numeris in Canada in some respects and uses a sample set of viewers to compile ratings for programming. The "rating" however is not a rating in the traditional sense like "viewers rated it a t '0.7/10'" but is instead the percentage of the viewers polled by Video Research Ltd. who tuned in to the original broadcast (re-airings and streaming is scored separately.)

A "series rating" of <7% implies a horrible reception to the show when read the way people typically understand ratings. The ratings should probably be removed entirely or relabeled to indicate it was actually a tune-in rate and not a rating. - Omniomi (talk) 21:01, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
