The writing of this article

[edit]

Hi there- I'm not a registered user yet, but hear me out:

The entire article is practically just a transcription of that one youtube video of his prison breaks in its current state. Does anyone want to help out re-writing it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.240.240.55 (talk) 23:01, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

agreed, this article is still mostly a transcription of kento bento's video, with some portions being the exact same Clayel (talk) 19:08, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will if you wish.

Are the sources for the details being folkloric accurate?

[edit]

I read both the sources for the sentence "There are numerous tales describing his escapes, and some of the details may be folkloric rather than factual." and I didn't find anything mentioning the fact that details are folkloric, exaggerated, embellished or anything like that. Now, the one article is in Japanese, so perhaps the Chrome translation didn't translate it properly. And I'm sure some details are exaggerated so I'm not doubting the claim, but do we not have better sources that state this?

Early life ?

I suggest to someone from Japan to write about early life abou this antihero.Success think (talk) 08:11, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of inaccurate and incomplete sources

[edit]

Sources 11, 12, and 13 should be removed as they do not contain any actual sources for their claims.

11 and 13 is are videos produced by YouTuber Kento Bento which contains no actual sources either in the video, comments, or description.

12 is a writeup on a defunct website by an anonymous "SA Digitals" that serves as a transcript or plagerization of the aforementioned video source 11, as well as once again being completely without sources or citations.

Source 11 is only used in conjunction with Source 8 which does not include the information that Shiratori was handed over to the police by a former guard while he was in the bathroom, and information regarding his self-defense claim in his later murder charge. I recommend the removal of both sources from the aforementioned claims in the article, and rewrite it to mention the police officer turned Shiratori over to the authorities.

Source 12 is used a single time when discussing Shiratori's mythical breaking of cuffs in front of the guards. Without corroborating sources, I recommend removal of the claim in the article.

Source 13 is regarding the claim he dug his escape with miso soup bowls and stashed the dirt in gaps under the foundation of his room. As mentioned, 13 has no sources for this claim. 8 does not mention the idea that the dirt was moved under the foundation, merely that they escaped by digging with the miso soup bowls. Source 9, the other source for this section, is written exclusively in Japanese. While I am not a native speaker, nor will I claim Google Translate as a good alternative, I found no mention of their digging escape in the source at all. I recommend finding an alternate source, a translation, as well as removing the information regarding the placement of the dirt. 2600:8804:808F:5400:7042:F15D:A71F:EDC0 (talk) 20:13, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
