Merger proposal
[edit]I propose that Zelensky and Zelinski (surname) should be merged. Zelensky is described as "a Slavic masculine surname" ... "Its Russian version (Russian: Зеленский) is romanized Zelenski". That article lists Russians with the name Zelinski (surname) is described as "(Russian: Зелинский) is a masculine surname, a Russified form of the Polish surname Zieliński". That article lists Russians called Zelinski and Zelinsky. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 07:51, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

– In the same manner that Kuchma redirects to Leonid Kuchma, Yushchenko redirects to Viktor Yushchenko and Yanukovych redirects to Viktor Yanukovych, Poroshenko should redirect to Petro Poroshenko and Zelensky should redirect to Volodymyr Zelensky. Both men have very little surname competition — the only other male surname entry for Poroshenko is his son Oleksii Poroshenko, while the three other male surname entries for Zelensky are two stubs and a political victim of Stalinist purges 84 years ago. The surname's alternative transliteration — Zelenskyy — which currently redirects to the Zelensky surname disambiguation page, should also redirect to the president's entry since, as indicated in the still-active Talk:Volodymyr Zelensky#Requested move 7 January 2022, the Ukrainian president's official English-language website as well as his own passport transliterate his surname as "Zelenskyy". Also, since "Kravchuk" is a common Ukrainian surname, I did not include in this nomination Kravchuk → Kravchuk (disambiguation), but if consensus were to agree that, as the first president, Leonid Kravchuk is more notable than the combined renown of the other 12 men (eight of whom are sportsmen, three are academics and one is a writer-director) at the Kravchuk surname page, I would likewise support making Leonid Kravchuk the primary holder of that surname. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 21:44, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

- Comment. Since the above-mentioned surname pages list only surnames if, instead of using "(disambiguation)", consensus prefers Zelensky → Zelensky (surname), Poroshenko → Poroshenko (surname) and [although it is not part of the nomination] Kravchuk → Kravchuk (surname), I would also support those forms. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:16, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- Not disambiguation pages No opinion on the move specifically, but the current pages are not disambiguation pages, as Roman Spinner noted in above comment. If moved, (surname) disambiguators should be used per WP:APOTITLE convention.—Bagumba (talk) 08:23, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Why isn't the First Lady of Ukraine on this list?
[edit]Olena Zelenska is the First Lady of Ukraine and has her own Wikipedia page. Nonetheless, some autobot will not allow me to add her to this list. (It complains some false nonsense about Emoji characters, which were definitely not part of my intended edit.) Could someone please add her to this list? 173.25.231.114 (talk) 03:45, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
