Tate Rodemaker (born April 30, 2001)[1] is an American football quarterback for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. He previously played for the Florida State Seminoles.

Early life and high school

Rodemaker was born in Valdosta, Georgia where he attended high school at Valdosta.[2] In Rodemaker's high school career, he passed for 6,811 yards and 74 touchdowns.[3] Rodemaker originally decided to commit to play college football for the South Florida Bulls.[4] However, Rodemaker decided to flip his commitment to play for the Florida State Seminoles.[5][6]

Rodemaker made his first career start in the 2020 season versus Jacksonville State.[7] In Rodemaker's first career start, he completed eight of his 12 passes for 58 yards and an interception, and he was benched for Jordan Travis, as the Seminoles defeated Jacksonville State 41–24.[8] Rodemaker finished his first career season in 2020, going 17 for 29 on his pass attempts for 130 yards and three interceptions.[9] In the 2021 season, Rodemaker appeared in one game where he completed one of his two passes for seven yards.[10] In week three of the 2022 season, Rodemaker came off the bench for an injured Jordan Travis where he threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns, as he helped lead the Seminoles on a comeback victory beating Louisville 35–31.[11] Rodemaker finished the 2022 season, completing 18 of his 31 passing attempts for 254 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions.[12] In week twelve of the 2023 season, after Jordan Travis went down with an injury, Rodemaker came in for relief where he completed 13 of his 23 pass attempts for 217 yards and two touchdowns, in a win over North Alabama.[13] After the North Alabama game, Rodemaker took over as the Seminoles starting quarterback after Jordan Travis suffered a season ending injury, as he is looking to help guide them to the College Football Playoff.[14][15]

On December 25, 2023, Rodemaker announced that he would be entering the transfer portal and would skip the 2023 Orange Bowl.[16]

Southern Miss

On January 6, 2024, Rodemaker announced that he would transfer to Southern Miss.[17] He was named as the starting quarterback for the 2024 season opener.[18]
